- దేశంలోనే మొట్ట మొదటి త్రీడీ ప్రింటెడ్‌ పోస్టాఫీసు బెంగళూరులో రూపుదిద్దుకుంది. కంప్యూటరైజ్డ్‌ 3డీ మోడల్‌ డ్రాయింగ్‌ ఇన్‌పుట్‌ ఆధారంగా కాంక్రీట్‌ను ఒక్కో పొరగా వేసే 3డీ ప్రింటింగ్‌ టెక్నాలజీని ఉపయోగించి రోబోటిక్‌ ప్రింటర్‌తో ఇది నిర్మితమైంది.
- నగరంలోని కేంబ్రిడ్జి లేఔట్‌లో 1,021 చదరపు అడుగుల విస్తీర్ణంలో రూ.40 లక్షలతో దీనిని నిర్మించారు. ఈ కొత్త పోస్టాఫీసును కేంద్ర రైల్వేలు, కమ్యూనికేషన్లు, ఎల్రక్టానిక్స్‌ ఐటీ శాఖల మంత్రి అశ్వినీ వైష్ణవ్‌ 2023 ఆగస్టు 18న ప్రారంభించారు.
- సంప్రదాయ విధానంలో ఇటువంటి భవన నిర్మాణానికి ఆరు నుంచి 8 నెలలవరకు పడుతుంది. కానీ, ఆధునాతన పద్ధతిలో అంతా కలిపి కేవలం 45 రోజుల్లోనే నిర్మాణం పూర్తి చేసుకుంది. మద్రాస్‌ ఐఐటీ సాంకేతిక మార్గదర్శకంలో నిర్మాణ సంస్థ లార్సెన్‌ అండ్‌ టూబ్రో లిమిటెడ్‌ దీనిని నిర్మించింది.

The first 3D printed post office in the country
- The first 3D printed post office in the country has taken shape in Bangalore. It was built with a robotic printer using 3D printing technology that casts concrete layer by layer based on computerized 3D model drawing input.
- It was built at a cost of Rs 40 lakh on an area of 1,021 square feet in the city's Cambridge layout. This new post office was inaugurated on 18th August 2023 by Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics IT Ashwini Vaishnav.
- Construction of such a building takes six to eight months in the traditional way. But, the construction was completed in just 45 days with modern methods. It was built by Larsen and Toubro Limited, an architectural firm, under the technical guidance of IIT Madras.
